GIDS 2026 Job Announcement
Tenure-Track Assistant Professor/Associate Professor/Professor position
The Graduate Institute of Development Studie at National Chengchi University (NCCU), Taiwan, invites applications for tenure-track faculty positions starting on August 1, 2026.
Applications are invited from candidates across various disciplines, including politics, economics, sociology, and sustainable development. Particular consideration will be given to applicants with expertise in economic or sustainable development. Successful candidates are expected to demonstrate a strong commitment to high-quality research and teaching, with the ability to deliver courses in English at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
A successful candidate for this tenure-track position is expected to teach a variety of courses in the following fields (in Chinese and/or English):
Graduate courses: economic / sustainable development-related courses, Quantitative research method-related courses and/ or
Undergraduate general education courses: Taiwan politics, China studies, development studies-related courses.
Position begins on August 1, 2026

1. Curriculum Vitae (indicating academic experiences, specializations, research interests, and the rank of position you apply for) .
2. Certificate of PhD degree (Foreign PhD diplomas must first be authenticated by an ROC (Taiwan) Consular Office. Applicants who have not yet obtained their PhD diplomas by the application deadline may submit an original provisional certification issued by their universities, confirming the successful defense of their dissertations. The PhD diploma and its verification must be completed by May 31, 2026.)
3. Official PhD transcript (not required for applicant who has the ranked associate professor or higher Certificates issued by the Ministry of Education, ROC (Taiwan) ).
4. List of publications.
5. PhD dissertation (not required for applicants who are ranked associate professors or higher) and up to five representative publications from the last 5 years.
6. Two to Four syllabi of courses (including at least two in English) you intend to teach.
7. Two recommendation letters (not necessary for holders of university teacher certificate issued by Taiwan's Ministry of Education; letters should be send to GIDS by email before January 04, 2026) .
